Just as bad, the headphone jack also stopped working, so my soundbar gets no audio no matter what input source I'm using (tested with Mac and PC on all inputs). This problem especially bad if there's a video or something animated on just part of the screen. When dimmed, it looks like the screen is interlaced (tiny horizontal banding). The monitor is constantly going dim and springing back to full brightness, even though adaptive sync, local dimming, and dynamic brightness are all disabled. UPDATE 3b: Ok, so 1008 has a lot of other issues. Finally the monitor is working as advertised! The new firmware can be found here: UPDATE 3a: The new 1008 firmware for the G9 works! 240hz fixed. Bumping the refresh rate in Windows to 240hz causes a black screen again. UPDATE 2: I seem to have had a regression. On the G9's settings, under System, disable Dynamic Brightness and Local Dimming. On the G9's settings, crank Contrast to 100 and Brightness to 60. Scroll down to "HDR/SDR Brightness Balance" and increase brightness to full (all the way right) In "Windows HD Color Settings", enable the HDR checkbox Attempting to re-enable Adaptive Sync and/or G-Sync will result in a black screen again.įurther notes on configuring HDR (without everything looking washed out): In Nvidia Control Panel, ensure a 240hz mode is selected In Nvidia Control Panel, disable G-Sync and save Set your G9's Adaptive Sync feature to OFF There is some tweaking you may need to do to get it to work. UPDATE: Nvidia drivers 456.98 are available and seem to (mostly) fix this. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? Defective G9? Even the display menu won't stay open long enough to select factory reset. Unfortunately, as soon as I enable 240hz I get a black screen and the monitor acts like it's turning off and back on again repeatedly. I just got my 3090 and decided I'd finally try to get everything working at 240hz.
